Judy Benson brings more than 30 years’ investment management experience to her role at Barrington Partners. Her background includes establishing and managing a de novo mutual fund business; developing products and operational infrastructure for a start-up hedge fund business; providing strategic consulting and client relationship management services for investment managers; serving as project manager for the implementation of strategic investment initiatives; and overseeing investment activities for a corporate pension plan. Other consulting engagements include designing and implementing a business strategy for a performance-challenged family of mutual funds; developing a growth strategy for an international asset manager; assisting a major insurance company enter the asset management business; providing guidance in the conversion of common trust funds for a private banking organization; and developing compliance processes for the operations of the hedge fund arm of a private equity firm.
Prior to joining Barrington, Ms. Benson was an independent consultant. Previously, she served as Chief Operating Officer of Financial Research Corporation, worked in the Custody Services Division of Putnam Investments, and for many years was a senior officer of BayBanks, Inc.
Ms. Benson is a graduate of Simmons College.
